About Me & FAQ'S

I am an organizing maven “one who understands.” But to be an organizing maven, I need to know more than just organizing. I have to know the components in what makes something “organized”. I didn’t become a “maven” overnight, but rather I’ve been doing it for over 23 years. Honing my skills and preparing myself for meeting you and changing your life!

The mental and physical clarity, is an after effect of my services. You will find yourself able to focus on the tasks you need to do. All your "tools" will be easy to access and put away after use. 

What happens during the organizing consultation?

  • My 60-minute in-person consultation is an opportunity for me to see what is going on in your home or garage. 
  • Additional time after the initial 60 mins will be charged at the currently hourly rate.
  • During the consultation, I ask questions about the project and listen to your end goal for the space.
  • We will discuss the purchase of organizing items, free standing shelves, trash bin services, bulk waste pick up, and other items that may need to be purchased or scheduled before the organizing is completed.
  • Same day estimates are not available. You will receive an estimate back from me within three days if I feel this is a good fit for both parties to move forward.

How much does it cost?

This is a common question asked, I am not able to assess a project by the square feet. Your home might be very small, but the density of how much is in your home is the factor. I have done so many kitchens, closets, bedrooms, kids rooms, home offices, and garages. I can look at your kitchen and think back to other similar layouts of kitchens I have done in the past and remember those kitchens similar to yours took me 4-6-8 hours. So after I see your kitchen, and talk about your kitchen goals, I know that it will take me 6 hours to complete your kitchen from start to finish. I am the "maven" from experience not by measuring the square feet. 

Plus I have to factor how quickly you are at being able to make decisions, and if you really want to work with a professional. You don't micromanage your doctor or dentist, so I ask for you to respect me as being a professional to organize your home.

Thank you for choosing Allison Almond as a partner to help you regain control and find peace and joy in your space. Before we begin working together, it is important to review the following terms, as it is helpful when both parties are clear on expectations.  Your confidentiality and trust are of the upmost importance.  Listed below are my terms of service that define my process and services.


Donations / Hazardous Chemicals / eWaste / Trash   

  • Donations: All items deemed for donation will be taken to the location of my choice.
  • Hazardous Disposal: Light bulbs, paint, batteries, pesticides, and household chemicals will be disposed of.
  • eWaste: Old technology such as old cell phones, printers, monitors, laptops, and computers will be disposed of.
  • Trash: All trash is to be put in your trash receptacles. You may have to rent a dumpster or schedule for a bulk waste pick-up. Also if your HOA does not allow a dumpster to be delivered, then contacting a junk hauler would be a good alternative. 



Payment Terms

  • Payment is due prior securing a date on my calendar. 
  • Pre-Payment of the projected first session cost is needed to secure your date on my calendar.
  • Refunds only happen under extreme situations, and will vary by each situation.   
  • Credit Card – I have a credit card swiper for in-person consultations or I can send a payment link from my website.
  • Venmo 
  • PayPal  



Supplies and Shopping

I ask for the client to set a budget for each space. This allows me to utilize my skills to pick the best organizing items for YOUR home. I do not mark up products and I pass on my trade discounts to my clients. However, my clients need to view organizational items as an investment and not a way to cut costs. With inflation, fuel prices, and other factors involved. A low budget may result in either lesser quality items OR limits my options to get everything needed for your home.

I do not give refunds, when I am reimbursed for the items used. 



Process Ownership

Allison Almond recognizes items as the sole property of the Client, and though efforts will be made to help reduce the volume of belongings, when necessary, it is hereby stated that the final decision on such matters belongs to the Client.    


Project Outcomes
Project outcomes depend on the Client’s willingness to participate in the process; sorting, editing, and donating when necessary. Also, the Client's ability to make quick decisions will play a factor on how long the project takes. My estimate is based on my 23 years of experience. I do my best to stay on task and stay within the estimted time to complete the project. My time clock starts when I arrive at your property, and ends when we close out for the day.  


Confidentiality & Photo Release
The personal information of and in possession of the Client will be treated confidentially and with respect at all times.  No personal or private information is ever shared with anyone else.  This includes name, address, phone number. This includes when potential clients want a reference. Please see my Yelp! or Google reviews, for determining if my services will be a good fit for your project.

  
The Client releases all rights to before and after photos, to be used by Allison Almond for marketing purposes, including but not limited to website, social media, educational presentations, and pamphlets. Client identity and confidentiality will always be top priority in regards to photo usage.    


Please understand that my estimates are a rough estimate for total cost, and should be used a guide for an possible outcome for this project.
